Something Old, Something New......

What makes new fabric SO wonderful? I recently ordered a lot of fabric for kits from Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day website. I found a backing for a quilt that matches wonderfully, with some accents for pillows and curtains. I found THE cutest baby print; pink and brown with birds, in kind of a retro mish mash, with a matching polka dot fabric and cute sayings. You have to really look through pages and pages of different fabrics, different brands, but when you see that one fabric, the perfect one that matches what you already have! It's glorious. It makes the old one you had that you have loved for so long and looked at and planned with seem all the more attractive and exciting again. Something new makes your something old work again, but without the something old that new one might be all by itself and lonely.

Sometimes life is like that. You have something around for a while. Whether it be furniture or clothes or something deeper more spiritual than that; and you're just waiting patiently, or sometimes not so patiently for it to all make sense and come together and finally God sends something your way that completes everything, or at least a big portion of it. This is all about more than fabric or furniture or the perfect pumps for the holiday season. All that may be what we focus on because it's easy to see and we can control a big portion of it. But for those dreams out of our reach make sure you let Him take care of putting them together.
